Coney Island closes

Did you hear the shocking news? Coney Island has closed. At least the amusement park part of it has. Apparently the economy has taken its toll on Coney Island amusement park. And a real estate developer wants the land. I think this is sad as Coney Island is as American as apple pie and baseball. And I think it should be on some sort of historic register or something.
